Who can use RNIB Newsagent’s Digital Download Service?

If you are blind or partially sighted, or have a print or physical impairment that prevents you reading standard print, you can use RNIB Newsagent Digital Download Service.

What does it cost?

An annual subscription to our audio and eText service costs £89.04.

Audio only costs £62.64 per year and eText costs just £42.40 per year.

I have forgotten my username or password. What should I do?

No problem! Use the password re-set button in the first instance,

I need to change my email address. How do I do this?

As your email address is a key part of your login information, please email [email protected]k to request this change.

Who can I contact for technical support?

Please check our help pages first as we have a range of information here. If you still need support, then please contact our Helpline on 0303 123 9999 and ask for the Tech for Life team. You can also contact Tech for Life directly via email: [email protected].

Can I subscribe to receive the audio titles by email?

No. The audio files are too large for emailing.

How do I report a problem with a title I have downloaded?

Please contact our Helpline on 0303 123 9999 or email [email protected]. Remember to provide as much detail as possible regarding the problem you have encountered.

Do you have magazines for children?

Yes. We currently have National Geographic Kids available as an audio download and Aquila Magazine, Blast Off! and The Week Junior available as eText.

Do I have to “return” the magazine or newspaper when I have finished with it?

No. You can simply delete the downloaded content.

Can I share the magazines I download with other people?

These audio files are provided for your own private use only. Under no circumstances can you share these downloaded files with your friends, family or anybody else (whether blind, partially sighted or sighted), as this is in clear breach of copyright.

Can I stream the content to my device?

Yes, you can stream directly from our website on your chosen device (tablet/phone). You can also use our podcast feeds. Go to the How to section for more details.

What other services access RNIB Newsagent audio content?

You can access Newsagent content on British Wireless for the Blind Funds’ Bumblebee (http://bwbf.org.uk); SpeakOn http://www.speakon.org.uk; Dolphin Guide https://yourdolphin.com/guide; and In Your Pocket http://inyourpocket.net/ and more. Also, some local talking newspapers use audio content recorded by RNIB Newsagent (https://tnf.org.uk).

Do you have regional or local newspapers?

We have a range of regional and local newspapers mostly available as eText (email). If you are interested in finding out more about our eText service, please contact our Helpline on 0303 123 9999 or email [email protected]. If you want audio you may wish to contact your local talking newspaper https://tnf.org.uk or phone 01793 497 555.

Can we request extra titles that you don’t currently offer?

Yes. We are always looking at ways to add to our portfolio of titles and welcome feedback and suggestions from customers. Email [email protected].
